About the ProjectLimited edition print run (alongside ‘Gabion II’ and ‘Gabion – Yellow’), prompted by a fundraiser one-off postcard. The printed area is A6 or 148 x 105mm, but it’s on an A4 page, and will slot nicely into standard A4 frames. Again it’s a formal study of geometric transitions between squares and circles, but in this case the resulting composition was reminscent of dry stone, or more so, of caged Gabion walls. The gilding is in a thick 23ct gold.   About the ArtistAlastair is a graphic design graduate of NCAD and the Royal College of Art. He’s worked as a designer, and design educator, for far too long to dwell on. Interested in process and materiality in printmaking, he’s previously worked in letterpress, but returned to screen printing in 2017. Often found devising an image-making technique, and then discovering ways to undermine, abuse, and subvert it. Loves a happy accident. Disinterested in rigorous adherence to consistency in a world of perfect reproduction. Which is convenient.
