Dawn Redwood Chubby
One of the few deciduous conifers, like larch, Metasequoia glyptostroboides Chubby is a compact, rather rare, slow-growing, deciduous tree that stays small; it has a conical habit, fibrous bark and sturdy branches, forming a pyramid. The flat, needle-like leaves emerge with a bluish tint, maturing to bright green, and turning bronze in the autumn before leaf-fall. This tree makes a great accent plant in the landscape. It is very tolerant of air pollution and poorly drained soils.
