Aleppo Pine
A beautiful, Mediterranean tree with yellowish-green needles for the larger garden, Pinus halepensis is a rather slow-growing, tall, evergreen tree; it has a neat, conical habit when young, but matures attractively to an open crown. Long needles are borne in pairs, sometimes slightly twisted, and yellowish-green. Green cones ripen to brown, and may stay on the tree for years. This tree makes a great accent plant in the landscape, and is particularly good in a low-maintenance or coastal garden. Aleppo pine needs no pruning.
