Glazing Workshop this December About the Workshop Pottery pieces are enhanced and transformed by the glaze colours applied to them. Glazing also ensures that pottery is made functional, food safe, and watertight.   The Glazing Workshop will be of interest to you if you have completed one of our throwing classes and would like to glaze your own pot, and/or if you have an interest in the chemistry, ingredients and techniques of glazing pots. In this workshop you will get to glaze pots yourself (we will supply the unglazed pots if you don’t have them from your throwing workshop). If you would like to give this Workshop as a gift please look at our Gift Cards options here. FAQs Is there an age limit for the Workshop? This workshop is generally for people aged 18 and above. A teenager over 15 may attend if they are accompanied by an adult. Please let us know in advance.  What are my transport/parking options getting to the workshop? The nearest Luas Red Line stop is 'Four Courts', (a five minute walk away) and many bus routes service Stop 1479 on Ormond Quay, at the junction with Capel Street. You'll also find a Dublin Bikes stand at each of these locations. Due to our City Centre location, on-street parking immediately outside the building is limited, but there is pay and display in the general area, and there are large car parks nearby at Jervis Shopping Centre and beside the Fruit and Vegetable Markets. What's the day like? You will be welcomed by your teacher and brought to the glazing room. We supply all the materials you need. (If you want to glaze your own pot please book one of our throwing or handbuilding classes. Please allow at leats 4 weeks for your pots to be bisque fired in preparation for the Glazing Workshop.) The workshop ends with a class and equipment tidy up - another important part of the potter's training!  What should I wear/bring? Please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy. Please bring your own apron.  Should I wear a mask? As per the government's regulations masks are not mandatory during the workshop.  When will my pot be available for collection? After glazing your pot we will fire it for you, and contact you when it is ready for collection - usually within a few weeks after the workshop. COVID19 Protocols  In line with the government's easing of restrictions please read our Workshops Covid Measures here. Please get in touch if you have any questions.  What if I have COVID symptoms on the day of the workshop or have a positive antigen test? Please read our Workshops Covid Measures here. Please get in touch if you have any questions.  Is my booking transferrable and what is the cancellation policy? You may transfer your booking into someone else's name - please just let us know before they attend. Where can I contact you with any questions? You can email us at [email protected]. Thank you!
