Make a Jar - 4 weeks Advanced Course About the Course This 4 weeks evening course is aimed at more advanced potters and it provides the opportunity to further develop your throwing skills.  The classes take place over 4 Sunday evenings, from 6pm - 8pm. You will learn the following: Week 1: Demonstration followed by throwing practice Week 2: Concentrated throwing practice aimed at achieving certain minimum dimensions Week 3: Throwing of a challenging  item such Storage Jar with Lid Week 4. Handle pulling for those interested; trimming and fettling; Jar lid fitting and knob detailing    Where and What Time: This workshop runs for 4 evenings from 6pm to 8pm in our Arran Street East studio in the heart of the Dublin Fruit and Vegetable Markets area. Eircode: D07 K744 google map.  Cost: €250 If you would like to give this Workshop as a gift please look at our Gift Cards options here.  FAQs Who is this course for? This pottery workshop will suit advanced potters with ability to centre and pull confidently.  Is there an age limit for the Workshop? This course is generally for people aged 18 and above.  What are my transport/parking options getting to the workshop? The nearest Luas Red Line stop is 'Four Courts', (a five minute walk away) and many bus routes service Stop 1479 on Ormond Quay, at the junction with Capel Street. You'll also find a Dublin Bikes stand at each of these locations. Due to our City Centre location, on-street parking immediately outside the building is limited, but there is pay and display in the general area, and there are large car parks nearby at Jervis Shopping Centre and beside the Fruit and Vegetable Markets. What does the course entail? You will be welcomed by your teacher and brought to an upstairs classroom (no lifts available). Each participant will have access to their own pottery wheel/workstation and tools for the duration of the workshop. We supply all the materials you need. Each workshop ends with a class and equipment tidy up - another important part of the potter's training!  What should I wear/bring? Please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy. Please bring your own apron and a hand towel.  Are there any Health and Safety issues? Please note you will be working on a pottery wheel in a bent position which might put some strain on your neck or back or wrists. Please first consult your doctor if you have had back, neck, wrist or any other injuries.  To reach the classroom you will have to use stairs and there is no lift in the building.  Please keep your hair tied up and your nails short.  When will my pots be available for collection? Your teapot will have to dry for a few weeks and will be glazed and fired by us. It will take up to 8 weeks for it to be ready.  Is my booking transferrable and what is the cancellation policy? You may transfer your booking into someone else's name - please just let us know before they attend.
