In this workshop, you will be creating your own Sewn Board Book. The sewn board binding is a light and versatile book structure that opens flat and was first developed by bookbinder Gary Frost.  It is a structure that has an additional section of a card or heavier paper sewn onto the text block that is incorporated into the cover of the book. The sewn board binding also includes a pop-up spine which gives the structure its iconic look. A great book structure for writers and artists because of its versatility and adaptability.  In learning this unique bookbinding technique you will also be able to get creative with the book's cover, where we will be using a section of papers and bookcloths provided by Liberties Papers 11 am to 5 pm with 30 min break in between  All materials are included. Lunch is not included but there are plenty of places in Terenure to get lunch.   Bio: Elize de Beer is an artist and bookbinder and owner of Bookward Bound Bindery, a contemporary bindery that collaborates with artists, writers, designers and all book lovers.
