Tasting notes Powerful, the nose blends fragrances of stewed black fruit with savoury notes of spices and liquorice roots. On the palate this is opulent, and is seductive with its intense fruity expression (blackcurrant, Morello cherry) and its powerful tannins.   94 points James Suckling  Vibrant nose of grapefruit, pomelo, dried apple, hazelnut skin and juniper berry. It’s medium-bodied with vibrant acidity. Excellent texture and tension with a long, spicy finish. Drink or hold.  (2/2022) 92-94 points Jeb Dunnuck  Not far off the 2018, the 2019 Château Larrivet Haut-Brion offers a medium to full-bodied, elegant, lively style that carries classy dark fruits, earthy minerality, a kiss of flowers and violets, nicely integrated oak, and a great finish. As with the 2018, it shines for its elegance and purity yet still brings plenty of fruit and richness. It's a beautiful wine. Tasted twice. 92-94+  (6/2020) 92-94 points Vinous  The 2019 Larrivet Haut-Brion is laced with a whole range of dark red cherry, lavender, gravel, rose petal, blood orange, mint and sweet spice nuances. Deep and persistent, with fabulous balance, the 2019 has so much to recommend it. One of the signatures of Larrivet Haut-Brion is a relatively high percentage of Cabernet Franc, and the Franc character really comes through. It will be fascinating to see how things evolve as the property transitions to sustainable farming. Tasted two times. (AG)  (6/2020)
