Tales for Tadpoles
It is the year 1651 and Ireland is a battlefield. Turlough O' Brien, whose mother has died and whose father has disappeared, sets out on a long and dangerous journey with his dog, Bran Og, for company. He travels through a land destroyed by Cromwell's armies. Lying in wait for him are slave traders, searching the countryside for boys to sell into captivity. But there are friends, too: Rhattican the bard and O'Flaherty the sea captain. And Turlough carries a medallion which will grant him safety, if only he can reach the distant Bay of Islands.
