Country: Spain Region: Valencia  Varietal: Pinot Noir Vintage: 2020 Colour: White Style: Dry Producer: Bodegas Torre Oria  Description: Bodegas Torre Oria is one of the most prestigious wineries in the Valencia Region of Spain.. It was built in 1903 by architect Joseph Donderis, and it is responsible for some of the best mediterranean climate wines on the Eastern coast of Spain. Pinot Noir grapes are amongst the hardest grapes to grow. They are renowned for their thin skins and their need to be picked when perfectly ripe. consequently the grapes tend to be reserved for more expensive wines, and it is quite rare to see a 100% Pinot Noir Rosé wine. If you do find them, they tend to be expensive, and never at a price like this! Bodegas Torre Oria keep the juice in contact with the skins for 9 hours of maceration. After this the juice is bled from the skins and the resulting colour of the wine is that we have all come to love. It is a perfectly pale blush colour with a lovely weight to the wine owing to the structure of the pinot noir grapes. This wine was recently tasted and rated by wine critic Rasmus Christensen who declared:In the glass this is delicate and elegant, with a Provence colour. In the nose, it is summery and seductive. Fresh and inviting scent of strawberries and cream, watermelon and nectarine, sea breeze and white flowers. In the mouth, delicate and juicy fruity purity with a silky mouthfeel  that is brought to joy perfectly by the mouth cleansing freshness of the wine. It has an uplifting crisp acidity and it is really well proportioned. A truly successful Pinot Noir Rosé. Drink now or hold for 3 – 4 years.   Anne’s Tasting Note: Light blush colour. Attractive aromas of grapes, peaches and nectarines. It is dry with balanced acidity. There are lovely pink berry aromas and a lovely mouthfeel. There is a lovely length to this wine. it is well balanced and structured and is perfect for summer.   Wills Tasting Note: On the nose, there are tinned strawberries and white peaches. In the mouth there is a creamy, rich mouthfeel. There is a wonderful weight to this wine, coming from the Pinot Noir grapes. It is structured, really well balanced with a crisp freshness. At just €9 per bottle it is the best value Rosé I have drank all summer long!
