Stemming from its Indonesian batik origin, the fabric offers vibrant colours and patterns. Dried straw is harvested locally in Africa, dried, and then woven. Great for storage in bedrooms and living rooms. These baskets were from a French company that has opened weaving schools for young girls in 14 villages across Senegal, employing more than 2,000 women. This is a great substitute for storage than plastic bins and makes for a thoughtful gift.  The distinctive design pattern of the straw and recycled fabric makes this basket   a fantastic decorating piece.
