When we focus our attention to the customary and the normal and review with a deeper sensibility there will always be surprises. Using a combination of satellite imagery, still lifes and snapshots these paintings describe a place. There is no one particular viewpoint but a sense of pieces and objects considered and explored. Biography Michael Hales was born and raised in Maidenhead, UK. He currently lives in Emly, Co. Tipperary working from his own studio. He studied Fine Art at Margaret Street, Birmingham School of Art and Design in the early 1990’s. Michael Hales' works have been widely exhibited nationally and collected by buyers in the UK, USA, Europe and South Africa. Inspired by satellite imagery, photography, and personal experience, his works endeavour to explain an aggregated view of his world. Hales' striking abstractions are most often created using a combination of many layers of wax, resin, and oils on birch plywood.
