Every 21st of March, you may notice a few more people than usual wearing odd and/ or brightly coloured socks. This brilliant yearly awareness day is designed to start a conversation; when people ask you about your amazing socks, you can tell them, “I’m wearing them to raise awareness of Down syndrome”.
And who can make the brightest, most eye catching, conversation starting socks? it has to be the Irish Sock Society.
Packed full of cerise, blue, yellow and blod black drawings, these socks are Unisex in designs and come in two sizes, and they have a seamless finish for the best possible comfort.
In celebration of trisomy 21, the Irish Sock Society are donating 21% of profits from sales of these socks to Down Syndrome Ireland.
The irish socksciety are Alex and Joanna, a pair of best friends based in Galway who dance, laugh and work together. They are the kind of people who usually wear baggy, black or grey clothes but socks, socks are very special to them. They choose them very carefully, sometimes odd socks, sometimes patterned or themed and always lots of colour. That’s why designing socks is what they are passionate about. These socks brighten up any occasion from a boring business meeting to a wonderful wedding, lunch with family or party with mates.
