Arran Street East
Drop-in Practice Session for Members We have 4 pottery wheels, clay, and tools available for members to use on a sessional pay-as-you-go basis, between 9 and 12 Mondays to Fridays. Membership is by application and there is no charge for becoming a member. These sessions are for those who have thrown on a wheel previously, whether at an Arran Street East workshop or elsewhere. We would recommend this for anyone who has attended our 7-week evening course or with similar experience. The sessions are not taught workshops but an opportunity to practice your throwing and develop your skills from previous workshops on a structured three-hour booking basis. As these are practice sessions we do not offer firing of work made during the sessions. Members will wedge your own clay to work with and recycle your clay at the end of each session.  Please email [email protected] if you would like to become a member. Location: Arran Street East, 1 Little Green Street, Dublin 7. Time: 9.00 - 12.00 Mondays to Fridays. Cost: €40 per session. FAQS COVID19 Protocols Please read our Workshops Covid Measures here. Please get in touch if you have any questions.  Health and Safety Please note you will be working on a potting wheel in a bent position which might put a strain on your wrists, neck and back. Please consult your doctor if you’ve had back, neck, wrist or any other injuries.  Please keep your hair tied back and your nails short.  To reach the classroom you will have to use stairs and there is no lift in the building. What should I wear/bring? Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting messy. Please bring your own apron, or if you would like to purchase an Arran Street Apron please click here. Are there age limits? The sessions are for people aged 18 and above. What are my transport/parking options getting to the event? The nearest Luas Red Line stop is 'Four Courts', and many bus routes service Stop 1479 on Ormond Quay, at the junction with Capel Street. You'll also find a Dublin Bikes stand at each of these locations. Due to our City Centre location, on-street parking in the area is limited, but there are large car parks nearby at Jervis Shopping Centre and beside the Fruit and Vegetable Markets.
