Having tasted numerous Bordeaux, she commented 'Best value, I think, was Ch La Guérinière. The Rambaud family’s Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines are grown in the far south-east of the St-Émilion appellation, obviously with great care, as this ripe, rich, velvety wine with a fresh top note tastes not unlike a lesser Pomerol'

Description:
Here's another stunning Bordeaux value from the dynamite 2018 vintage. This one is from the famous right bank commune of St. Emilion. Chateau La Gueriniere is a small, family-owned estate of about 36 acres.
The vineyard spans the villages of Saint-Pey-d'Armens and Saint-Hippolyte. Vines average 30 years of age and are planted on sandy soil. A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, fremetation takes place in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks.
The wine is then aged in concrete tanks instead of oak barrels to retain the bright flavors of the fruit from this remarkable vintage and allow the grapes to express themselves naturally.
The wine shows deep purple in color and red currants on the nose. On the palate there's a bold expression of blackberries, currants and tobacco with a mouthfeel that is both fleshy and silky. super value!
The wine is deep purple in colour and shows red fruit (strawberry) on the nose. As is typical for right-bank Bordeaux from the 2018 vintage, we have a bold expression of Merlot on the palate here, with a mouthfeel that is both fleshy and silky. This wine will make a particularly good accompaniment to less intensely flavoured meats and poultry -rabbit, turkey or chicken for example – and will of course go well with cheese.
