The 6th of Janurary - is well known in Ireland as Little Christmas, Women’s Christmas or Nollaig na mban. Traditionally meant as a reward for all the hard work women put into making Christmas the best they can - it was meant as a sort of day off from household chores and work. Traditional roles were supposed to be reversed, making the men manage the house and get the dinner on while the women were free to meet up, have a rest and a drink.
