A real cabin staple piece. Wear this wraparound in many ways, from cool morning porch coffee to wrapped and pinned closed under or over coats. The Aran stitches here are hand knit in the traditional Donegal way here on two needles. The diamond and link are classical Aran and Donegal stitches. While the link may be called a fern or feather too. It also resembles the lobster claw and rabbits ears. Stitch names have regional links and connections. Some of this has been over simplified by marketeers over the years. We like to keep the names as local as possible to here in Donegal.  DIFFERENCE: this long gilet, vest, wrap around, is worked sideways for an interesting horizontal view of aran. The back is neat and sits well and warm. Composition: 100% Wool, including 60% Irish mixed fleece base, in cream and natural undyed wool. Spun in Donegal. Warm easy care fabric. As wool is self cleaning only an occasional wash is needed for refreshing. Measurements: Length: 28-29 ins measured flat Chest: closed and overlapped it measures 40ins across waist point, the entire circumference is 54ins  (the overlap is 14ins)
