Country: Spain Region: Ribera del Duero Varietal: 95%  Tempranillo 5% merlot Vintage: 2017 Colour: Red Style: Dry Producer: Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro Description: The fruit used to produce this wine was grown at the Arzuaga family’s estate La Maquinilla (20%) at Finca La Plata and at estate vineyards in the province of Burgos (80%), where the vines are over 80 years old, to combine the structure and complexity or the Old vines with the liveliness and brightness of the New vines. Grapes from 20 different plots were used to craft this wine and it was aged in new French oak barrels for 26 months The harvest was done manually at the optimum point of maturity, and carried out separately for each of the more than 20 different plots used to make this wine. After the selection tables, a pre-fermentation maceration at low temperature and subsequent alcoholic fermentation at 28º is carried out, giving way to malolactic fermentation and aging in new French oak barrels for 26 months. Tasting Note: High intensity, intense purple red with cardinal nuances. Wide and intense where the aromas of compote of black fruits, mint, cocoa and a light background of toasted and caramelized tones predominate. The first sensations are fresh and friendly, giving way to the unctuousness and meatiness that characterize the wine. To end with a long aftertaste where we recall the spicy and caramelized aromas. Food Matches: Venison / Game / Risottos / Lamb
