We Make Good
These beautiful rag dolls are made by refugee women from Afghanistan who now live in India. Each doll is unique and wears its own individual handmade outfit. The sustainable clothing is made from leftover fabrics from Inda's fast fashion industry that would otherwise be going to landfill. Silaiwali turns these remnants into beautiful dolls. Each doll comes with a mattress, pillow and bedspread, so that it lies in a bed. The packaging (the bed) is a lovely gift box. Each doll is attached to a label with a QR code that tells the beautiful story behind the dolls in a video. A brochure is also included with the story and background information about Silaiwali. Silaiwali works in partnership with FAIR TRADE FORUM INDIA which, together with UNHCR, provides livelihoods for refugees.  We Make Good will donate €10.00 from the sale of each doll to the Irish Refugee Council in Ireland, who are working with refugees from Afghanistan to support integration and family reunification.
