This 3 week course given by Kay Lynch of Kay's Crafty Workshop will get you using that sewing machine that's been sitting unused since you bought it! Kay has designed a 3 week course which will teach you about all aspects of machine use and different sewing techniques. After each class you will have completed a sewing project to take home.
Sept 25th
Machine types, threading top and bottom, tension, common issues arising,
Your will make: tissue holders and scrunchies
Oct 2nd
Machine maintenance including cleaning, oiling etc. Common issues arising
Your make will be a 4 square cushion cover with envelope back.
Oct 9th
Measuring and cutting fabric, Fabric types and handling, Measurement specifics including fat quarters, charm squares and more.
Your make will be an infinity scarf.
The course fee includes all materials required, instruction sheets and refreshments. To get full benefit of the course you should bring along your own sewing machine, although Kay will have a couple of machines available.
The classes will be held in The Celtic Room, Blackrock Community Centre, Sandy Lane, which has plenty of space to allow for social distancing. You may prefer to wear a mask.
You can book online or pay a deposit of €30 in the shop, balance to be paid on commencement of the course. Please note, deposits can not be refunded unless a replacement can be found.
