A mineral prized by royalty and artists throughout history for its vibrant ultramarine colour. Most Lapis Lazuli is mined in Afghanistan, and it comes in many variations, from light to dark shades and including flecks of gold pyrite or calcite which make it resemble the sky with stars of swirling clouds.Tigereye is a beautiful golden to brown gemstone with undulating bands of colour through it. This variety, sourced in South Africa, has a silky, lustrous appearance. Tigereye is most commonly cut into cabochons (rounds) to show off the bands of colour running through itLabradorite (named after the Canadian region, not the dog) is a form of feldspar originally discovered in Labrador, Canada. Labradorite can be an iridescent stone; the myriad of crystal planes in the rock cause light to be refracted giving it beautiful angular monochrome tones with occasional flashes of turquoise blue or yellow depending on the stone.Sourced in India, Black onyx is a deep black monochrome stone which is said to aid will power and emotional strength.
