A great expression of Chianti Classico, Pèppoli shows notes of dark cherries, well-integrated with the chocolate and vanilla aromas from the oak-aging. The palate shows a strong Sangiovese varietal character. The tannins are soft and silky, and the finish is long. The Pèppoli estate, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, consists of 100 hectares in total, fifty of which are planted to vines. 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and Syrah, aged in oak for a period of approximately nine months, principally in large Slavonian oak casks but with 10% going into small American oak barrels. . TASTING NOTES Ruby red in color, Pèppoli shows notes of cherries well integrated with the chocolate and vanilla aromas of the oak aging. The palate shows much Sangiovese varietal character. The tannins are soft and silky, and the flavors are long and well sustained. Pèppoli is made with a view to being enjoyed fairly young, when all its fruity nuances are at their maximum.
