Country: France Region: Burgundy Varietal: Chardonnay Vintage: 2018 Colour: White Style: Dry Producer: Louis Jadot Description: Located in the southern part of Burgundy, at the North limit of Beaujolais area, Pouilly-Fuissé is the top of the Mâconnais wines, in the heart of the great whites appellations (Fuissé, Pouilly-Loché, Pouilly-Vinzelles and Saint-Véran). Pouilly Fuissé is produced exclusively with Chardonnay grapes. The production is small (700 hectares planted) and cover steep slopes of thevillage of Fuisé, Solutré, Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré, on which the soils are a mixture of clay and chalk from the Jurassic era. The various wines are blended after a traditional vinification. Aging lasts 8 to 10 months in oak barrels from our cooperage or in stainless steel vats before being bottled. Tasting Note: Aromas of fresh red apples, honey and white flowers with elegant and rich flavors of toasted nuts and citrus. Food Match: Roasted salmon, shellfish or creamy cheeses.
