Hydrangea Curly Sparkle Purple
A compact form of mop-head hydrangea with curly-edged flowers, Hydrangea macrophylla Curly Sparkle Purple is a small, deciduous shrub, with a bushy habit, ideal for the smaller garden, or for growing in soil-based compost in a large pot. The pointed ovoid leaves are mid-green. From July to September, the shrub bears mop-heads of open flowers with curly edges, which emerge green, and turn intense deep bluish purple with a small blue eye on acid soils; It will be pinkish-red on alkaline soils. Hydrangea Curly Sparkle Purple is an easy-to-grow, low-maintenance shrub. Prune after flowering. If growing in a pot, choose ericaceous, soil-based compost to ensure the purple colouring.
