When we work with our friends at Eight Degrees Brewing, we aim to take taste to new heights. And we’ve certainly continued in that spirit with this Jameson Crested limited edition. Inspired by the tallest of the Irish Munro mountains, Eight Degrees have finished their Belgian Triple craft beer in our Jameson casks, and called it ‘Devil’s Ladder’. Resting in those casks, it picked up hints of clove, sweet toasted malt and floral hops to complement its own pot-still spice and sherry notes. The final result is an elevated whiskey with richness, depth, and of course, mountains of character. Tasting notes:Nose: Initial notes of clove spice and cinnamon along with rich caramelized brown sugar. A roasted malt character that complements the sherry casks’ influence of toasted oak and dried fruits.Palate: Round with abundant spices and a delicate floral hoppy character. Vanilla sweetness comes to the fore with a soft fruit note lingering in the background while the oak and malt work in tandem adding a toasted cereal element to the whiskey.Finish: Lingering with the spices slowly fading allowing the sweet nature of the oak and malt to remain until the very end.
