American Horsetail Commonly known as American Horsetail, the stems are thicker than Equisetum hyemale, plus they are an attractive pink colour when young. Leave old growth standing through winter, cut down in spring when new shoots are about 15cm high. Ideal for adding a strong vertical element to ponds and water gardens, Equisetum robustum is vigorous & invasive and best grown in an aquatic basket to restrict its spread.
