Now this really is proper chocolate. This rich dark vegan friendly chocolate bar with 73% cocoa has notes of Plum and licorice, with a background of woodiness, leather and tobacco, making it smooth and satisfying to the mouth.
The cacoa bean used in this bar come from Nahua, a Costa Rican specialty cocoa producer with a mission to improving the lives of the local smallholder farmers they work with. Nahua collects wet beans at the farm gate and ferments them centrally. This takes the burden of mastering the complex fermentation process off the farmer, and ensures the cocoa beans are fermented and dried just right.
As bean-to-bar chocolate makers, The Proper Chocolate Company hand-sort, roast, crack and winnow (that's removing the husks to you and me) the cocoa beans; then refine, conche (that's the intense mixing, agitating, and aerating of heated the liquid chocolate), age, temper, mould and package each bar of chocolate, all from their base in Dublin.
We have lots of sweet stuff here at designist.
