Clematis Sieboldiana
A beautiful and very long-flowering clematis from Japan, Clematis florida var. florida Sieboldiana (syn. Sieboldii) is a herbaceous climber with mid-green, typical tripartite clematis leaves. From June into October, stunning ivory-white flowers, sometimes with a greenish tinge appear, with gorgeous purple petaloid centres with some green and white. Plant 5-8cm deeper than in the pot to encourage new shoots from the base. Prune in February, aiming for a framework of woody shoots and some new growth. Can be grown in soil-based compost in a large container with weekly feeding. Clematis Sieboldiana is borderline hardy, so not for colder areas.
