The Long Memory is a crime thriller, set in the 1930s, about a man who comes out of prison after serving a 17 year sentence for murder. He was convicted when the corpse of a companion was found in the ashes of a small vessel following a fire.   Davidson, who has always maintained his innocence, is resolved to be revenged on those who testified against him and to find out the truth. The Long Memory was made into a 1953 film noir, starring John Mills Howard Clewes (1912 – 1988) was an English screenwriter and novelist. Published by The Reprint Society in 1953.
