Gertrude Lawrence (1898 – 1952) was an English actress, singer, dancer and musical comedy performer known for her stage appearances in the West End of London and on Broadway in New York.
Daphne Du Maurier and Noel Coward were among her close friends.
Richard Stoddard Aldrich (1902- 1986), who married Gertrude in 1940, was an American stage and film producer.
Published by The Companion Book Club in 1956.
There are tears on the edges of the dust jacket. There are water stains, long since dried, on the early pages, otherwise the pages and binding are presentable with no major defects.
