Wellington's Men is a collection of first-hand accounts by soldiers who fought with Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769 - 1852).
Adventures in the Rifle Brigade by Captain John Kincaid (1787–1862) was the first book to be published by a veteran. It recounts the amazing escapades of this legendary unit in the war against French armies in Portugal and Spain.
The Recollections of Rifleman Harris is the memoir of an ordinary enlisted soldier in the 95th Regiment. Retrospect of a Military Life by Sgt. James Anton of the Royal Highlanders is widely regarded as a leading source for the Peninsular and Waterloo period.
Alexander Mercer (1783 – 1868) was commander of G Troop Royal Horse Artillery in the thick of the fighting at the Battle of Waterloo.
Published by John Murray Murray in 1900.
This is a former library book with a library date label attached to front endpaper. Front hinge has loosened. Water marks on cover, long since dried.
