Quay Books
The Life of The Earl of Beaconsfield is a biography of Benjamin Disraeli (1804 – 1881), who was the only British Prime Minister to have been of Jewish birth. Disraeli was also a novelist, publishing works of fiction even as Prime Minister.
Froude traces Disraeli's history from his early life in London to his elevation to the House of Lords, including his attempts at financial speculation, his literary career and his forty years as a Member of Parliament.
James Anthony Froude (1818 – 1894) was an English historian, novelist and biographer. He was often fiercely polemical and controversial, earning him a number of outspoken opponents.
Published by J.M. Dent and by E.P. Dutton in 1940.
No dust jacket. Good condition. Binding intact.
