An Indian Raid (1906) is an adventure story for children, taken from the longer volume Redskin and Cowboy (1892).
It follows the adventures of Hugh Tunstall, a young English lad working as a cowboy on a cattle ranch in Texas. Braving the perils of the untamed wilderness and the lawlessness of the Far West, our hero rescues damsels in distress after an Indian raid on a ranch.
George Alfred Henty (1832 - 1902) was an English novelist, best known for his historical adventure stories for young people. He wrote approximately 144 books, in addition to stories for magazines, and was known as "The Prince of Story-Tellers".
Published by Blackie (London) circa 1925.
