More Than Twice 55 Community Songs
€8.00

Quay Books
More than Twice 55 Community Songs contains a collection of musical scores and lyrics for sing-a-long songs, aimed particularly at community singing.
It was produced for the use of ‘Societies, Schools and Song clubs’; the songs are arranged to suit group singing with piano accompaniment.
The choice of songs consist mostly of old favourites which represent the folk heritage “built up through successive generations … which are part of the fabric of the national life”.
Some of the songs in the collection are hymns and carols, others are songs of war or nationalism (Marching through Georgia), others are classic folk songs (Barbara Allen) and some, like Massa's in de Cold Cold Ground, seem very dated by now.
Included are: The Last Rose of Summer, Since First I saw Your Face, Abide With Me and Killarney.
Published by Hawkes & Son, London in 1926.
Songs with words and music.
Paperback in good condition with binding intact.
