Elephants got their name form the Greek word 'elephas' which means 'ivory'. Reaching a height of over 3 metres, they are the largest land mammals on earth weighing over 5000 kilograms by eating over 12 to 18 hours a day.  These emotional beastes cry when they are upset, trupet when they are happy and are the only other animal besides humans to grieve for their dead. Size: 4.5cm x 4cm (1.5" x 1.4") Trovelore is an embroidery atelier specialising in the intricate lunevill needlework technique.  Their collection of embellished jewellery celebrates craftsmanship through a modern design sensibility.  The Trovelore atelier helps sustain and keep alive hand workmanship that has been in the artisans' family for generations.  Making their products is the artisans' prime source of livelihood and trovelore are humbles in their contribution to this cause. Cotton, Felt, Metal & Beads Hand embroidered in India.
