Her English language name means nothing, and is a corruption of the Irish 'Dubh Linn', a name derived from the location where the Liffey and Poddle rivers met. Since the 13th century, a castle appeared in the seal of the city. In time, the coat of arms for Dublin would consist of three castles, the flames said to represent the zeal of the people in defending their city. To the playwright Seán O'Casey, "poverty and pain and penance. They were its three castles." Variations of the castles are worn by many who represent the city, from Dublin's firefighters to the footballers of Shelbourne and Bohemian FC, while a singular castle is worn by her GAA sides. Once a symbol of the old order, constructed to maintain English and later British rule, the castle is today where Ireland inaugurates her President. It belongs to the people of Dublin at last.” Donal Fallon, Three Castles Burning About Dubliner Gianni Clifford is an award winning designer with a host of experience in both Product and Graphic Design.
