Edition: Open Paper Stock: Permajet Portrait Rag 285gsm  Size: 400mm x 400mm  OffalyCounty Offaly sits on the west edge of Leinster, and borders counties in both Connacht and Munster. Offaly takes its name from the ancient ‘Kingdom of Uí Failghe’ dating back to the 5th Century. Offaly, like much of the midlands, is rich in bogland, land that was stripped of all flora and fauna to be used solely for peat production. However, times are changing, and the devastating effects of bog harvesting are now known. Many boglands are being re-flooded to be used for agritourism and nature preserves. This ‘O’ flag is centred by a spring of Andromeda Polifolia, a bogland flower that blooms in May, and features the Offaly county crest. It sits on a bed of gold and green.
