Although it’s a symbol for all of Ulster, Tyrone uses the ‘red hand of Ulster’ on its coat of arms and crests. The red hand has grown to mean many things in Ulster, but it’s origin dates back to pagan time. Its exact origins are debated, but a banner with a bloodstained hand is often cited. One thing is for sure, the red hand is synonymous with Ulster, with Tyrone and with Ireland, and this ownership needs to be proudly held. This minimalist flag captures the red hand boldly on a white plain. About Dubliner Gianni Clifford is an award winning designer with a host of experience in both Product and Graphic Design.
