Edition: Open Paper Stock: Permajet Portrait Rag 285gsm  Size: 400mm x 400mm  WicklowCounty Wicklow lies just south of Dublin, in Leinster, on Ireland’s east coast. Wicklow is known as ‘Cill Mhantáin’ in Gaeilge, meaning ‘church of the toothless one’. Legend has it the strange name originates from one of St. Patrick’s men, who was somewhat dentally challenged, and opened a church in the county. Given the county's location to the sea, it has a long history with Viking raids followed by Viking settlements. The Vikings began two notable settlements, which are now known as Arklow and Wicklow. This flag plays tribute to that Viking heritage with a gold Viking shield laying on the blue sea.
