These unique artworks aim to present and promote the Irish language through using proverbs to look at our contemporary times, a reflection on the past year, a look to the future and to celebrate the resilience and community spirit of the Irish people at the time of our national holiday celebrations.
Irish Proverb: Aithnítear cara i gcruatán A wise phrase that means that a good friend is known in hardship.
Commissioned by St. Patrick's Festival in partnership with Hen's Teeth.

About the artistAnnie Moriarty is a designer and illustrator based in Dublin. Since graduating from NCAD she has worked in studios in Dublin and Berlin. She has a background in typography which has influenced her illustration style. In her illustrations she explores themes of empathy, using shape, space and texture to portray emotions.
