About the ArtistSean McGuill is a visual artist originally from Dundalk and currently based in Cork. He works between printmaking, painting and mixed media, often using and reimagining found imagery taken from the internet as well as art historical references. Titled ‘Sunrise Dreams’, this print is based upon the 1861 painting 'Dreams' by Frederic William Burton. Combining the figure with abstract shapes and natural motifs, it is intended to communicate the sense of renewal and hopefulness in spring after the dark winter months.
