Those Greenland Days, by Martin Lindsay
€6.00

Quay Books
Martin Lindsay (1905 – 1981) was a British Army officer, polar explorer, politician and author. In 1930 he was appointed Surveyor to the British Arctic Air Route Expedition to Greenland. The purpose of the expedition was to explore the viability of travelling the shortest air route between England and Canada.
Those Greenland Days tells the story of the fourteen explorers, led by Gino Watkins, who sailed from London in July 1930 in their ship, the ‘Quest’. Lindsay pays tribute to Watkins' team building, and the success of the expedition resulted in Lindsay and the other key members being awarded the Polar Medal.
Published by Penguin Books in 1939.
