P1 PEWTER WATER JUG This plain water jug holds 1 1/2 litres or 2 pints approx. The design is of Irish background used in the ale houses of Dublin in the late 1800's and early 1900's. The jugs were used mainly to dispense water, cider or beer. The lovely pouring nature of the jug and the beautifully appointed handle are so exacting of beer and water jugs of its time. The Dublin jug was also used widely throughout England and Scotland as trade was widespread at that time. The shape and size can be found in London, Manchester and even Paris to this day.
