The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation and is then aged for 4 to 5 months in barriques followed by extended bottle aging. The “Superiore” designation signifies stricter government regulations regarding production and aging requirements than Chianti. Tasting Note: Begins with a very nice aroma of black cherry, plum, a little baking spice, a little earth and some nice floral notes. Tasting the wine reveals plum, oak , liquorice and a bit of spice .A nice dense and velvety texture and some dusty tannins  Food Suggestion: Pair this with classic Tuscan dishes such as wild boar ragu, grilled steak and stewed white beans.
