Braves, White and Red is a tale of adventure, set in the Canadian North West. It features young medical student, Bertie Caryll, and his encounters with native tribes, in particular a courageous Indian youth called Sequa. Argyll Saxby was a Scottish author, born in Shetland in about 1870. He had travelled around Canada before becoming a schoolmaster. He wrote books for boys and adventure serials for the Boys' Own Paper, many of them set in the Canadian Prairies. Published by T C & E C Jack, Edinburgh With frontispiece and 5 plates. Illustrated by Murray Urquhart. Murray Urquhart was a painter best known for his portraits and landscapes. Good condition. Binding intact.
