Braves, White and Red is a tale of adventure, set in the Canadian North West. It features young medical student, Bertie Caryll, and his encounters with native tribes, in particular a courageous Indian youth called Sequa.
Argyll Saxby was a Scottish author, born in Shetland in about 1870. He had travelled around Canada before becoming a schoolmaster. He wrote books for boys and adventure serials for the Boys' Own Paper, many of them set in the Canadian Prairies.
