George O'Donnell was born in Ruan, near Corofin in County Clare in the 1870s.
In Reminiscences of a Country Boy he tells the story of his life, starting with his early days growing up in Clare, and describing the people he remembered in Ruan in the late 19th Century.
Later O’Donnell spent time ‘in exile’ as an emigrant, before he returned to Ireland and made his home in Dublin.
Published by Monument Press, Dublin, 1949.
