When he died in 1870, Charles Dickens left his final novel, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, unfinished. He left no outline of how the plot should develop and readers have puzzled over it ever since. Set in a fictional cathedral town in the South of England, it tells of young Edwin Drood who has mysteriously disappeared while visiting his uncle, opium-addict John Jasper. Filled with a cast of typically larger-than-life characters, the story has been ‘finished’ several times, most recently in a 2012 British television adaptation and on BBC Radio 4 in December 2020. This book also contains the following shorter works by Charles Dickens: Master Humphrey’s Clock, Hunted Down, Holiday Romance and George Silverman’s Explanation  Published by Chapman and Hall in London in 1893. A clean copy in good condition.
