The cardigan is knit from the top down and back and forth on a circular needle. At the beginning only one number is given (for all sizes), but as the work grows, separate numbers are given for all sizes. The pattern gives directions for both a square neckline and a v-neck style. Materials: Yarn requirements square neck: 10 (11) 11 (12) 13 (14) balls of Snefnug. Yarn requirements V-neck: 9 (10) 10 (11) 12 (13) balls of Snefnug. Buttons: If you make the square neck style, you will need 5 buttons x 25 mm size. Suggested needle size: Circular needle size 5 mm (60 cm or longer) for the neckband, and circular needle size 6 mm (60 cm or longer) for yoke, body, and sleeves. Double pointed needles (dpns) size 5 mm for the pocket edges and dpns size 6 mm for the pocket itself as well as the cuffs on the sleeves. Note that the needle size above only should be considered a guide. It is recommended to always knit a gauge swatch to check that you get the correct gauge before casting on. It is further recommended to use a row/round counter to help you keep track of where you are in the pattern. Gauge: approx. 13 sts x 24 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm in fisherman’s rib on needle size 6 mm.
