“They came from somewhere in that direction, only a few millions of miles away”
Planetary Journeys and Earthly Sketches consists of four connected tales involving travel by telepathy to other planets. Various forms of extra-terrestrial life are encountered, including some who are descended from ancient Greeks.
George Raffalovich (1880 – 1958) was a journalist and novelist of Ukrainian descent. Living in London, he was outspoken in his support for the Ukrainian independence movement. During the First World War he was suspected of having pro-German sympathies, so in 1915 he moved to the United States, where he taught French and Slavic history.
Published by Arnold Fairbairns & Co. in London in 1908.
Decorated binding depicting a man interacting with 2 ethereal beings on the front cover. Original pictorial light blue cloth.
The book is in good condition. Some foxing on the endpapers. No dustjacket.
