Apple Peasgood Nonsuch
Raised from a pip sown by a Mrs. Peasgood in Lincolnshire in 1858, Apple Peasgood Nonsuch is an attractive and popular dual-purpose apple, a good choice for the home grower. The fruit is very large, round and evenly-shaped, greeny-gold with an orange flush and crimson streaks, often grown for exhibition. The flesh is yellowish tinged with green, soft and quite juicy, very well flavoured, with a good balance of sweet and acid. Juicy and sweet when eaten fresh, they cook down to a delicious purée and are excellent bakers. The tree is moderately vigorous and spreading, and produces spurs freely. Heavy cropper, and a very attractive garden tree.
