Going Wild by Colin Wyatt is a forgotten gem of natural history writing. Born in 1901, Wyatt was also a ski champion, a keen mountaineer and a talented artist. He travelled extensively, visiting among other places Scandinavia, The Rockie Mountains, Baffin Island, Kashmir, Afghanistan and Iran; he also spoke seven languages. But his passion was for rare butterflies and he built up a large and varied collection, collecting tens of thousands of specimens during his travels all over the world.
