Going wild: The autobiography of a bug-hunter, by Colin Wyatt
€5.00

Quay Books
Going Wild by Colin Wyatt is a forgotten gem of natural history writing.
Born in 1901, Wyatt was also a ski champion, a keen mountaineer and a talented artist. He travelled extensively, visiting among other places Scandinavia, The Rockie Mountains, Baffin Island, Kashmir, Afghanistan and Iran; he also spoke seven languages.
But his passion was for rare butterflies and he built up a large and varied collection, collecting tens of thousands of specimens during his travels all over the world. Going Wild recalls the years he spent in Australia, and other memories of his search for elusive butterflies.
Published by Hollis & Carter, 1955.
Hardcover in good condition. Dustjacket has slight tears.
16 facing page illustrations.
